Cú Chulainn took up arms for that and from there, his legends and victories grew, from holding armies at bay to gathering enough willpower to resist the allure and wrath of the Morrigan. Later, on a fateful day, Cathbad told a group of young boys about a prophecy that anyone who took up arms that day would become legends. This impressed the druid Cathbad that he christened Sétanta with the new name he'd be known for: Cú Chulainn, the Hound of Chulann. Ashamed with the act, Sétanta swore to train a new dog and guard the king's home. Cú Chulainn began his legend when he was named Sétanta, during an invitation to a feast by King Conchobar, the guard dog of Culann attacked him on entrance and he killed it with his bare hands.
